It's kind of like working out; it has to be consistent. We are looking for changes to stick permanently after about 20 sessions.

The client reports feeling calmer by about 50%,
She feels the depression is much lower and more manageable.
She had difficulty falling asleep as usual but once she fell asleep she only awakened once during the night. Usually it's toss and turn all night. Upon awakening she didn't feel more rested than usual but her mother said she got out of bed and got ready for school on her own. "She never does that. Anti depressants, anti psychotic, anti anxiety and a G.I. med. . The client states that they don't help, nothing helps and nobody can help her. After an hour or so of intake and putting puzzle pieces together I decide that I have enough information for now. I set up a treatment plan for EEG Biofeedback (neurofeedback) and psychotherapy with a goal of no SI (suicidal ideation), a calming of the nervous system which will decrease or negate the feelings of anger , getting the client into a normal sleep pattern with no more nightmares and get rid of the depression. My expectation is that the client will get to a point where these symptoms are gone or very close to it. Due to the SI, I ask that the client comes in every day until the SI goes away. This usually happens in the first week. Once we are not in a crisis situation the client can continue daily sessions or come in twice a week. We will do this until we have done 20 sessions. This can happen in 10 days straight or 10 weeks or something in between. I see how many thousands of people click on this google ad or website and never reach out to me. I pray that they found significant help elsewhere but I assume that it has more to do with fear. I have a poignant statement in a frame in our waiting room about fear. I'll post it here.
"Preoccupation with form over substance combined with denial and avoidance behaviors are the chief causal factors for human failure-both individual and family"
Add pain to that and we often shut down.
